STEM - Industry Relevant Career Preparation

Pinellas Secondary

Our goal is to show students that post secondary education, trade schools, career certifications, and a non-traditional 'Four Year' College track can be the next steps after high school. Many of our students are not aware of the opportunities an options available to them.

Many of our students are those who struggle outside of school and have limited or no interactions with successful and or positive mentors. One step towards our overall goal is to model the success we want our students to produce and to give them hands on, industry relevant information and experience.

STEM is the perfect avenue to get students the hands on experience many of them lack.

Let Them See Their Names in Print!

Hollins High School

The goal of this project is to increase student engagement by having at least 80% of my students submit their best creative piece to be published in our school's literacy magazine.
Every year I energize students throughout the school to submit their best creative writing, artwork, and photography to our school's literary magazine, Revelations. Every student is eligible to submit whether they are in my creative writing class or not. So many students summon the courage to put themselves out there, to be vulnerable and let others see such personal work, but there is always a black cloud over their heads because our funding is always in question. The school does not have the money to pay for the printing of the magazine.
