Goal

The goal for this grant is to allow students to learn how self sufficient farming can greatly impact a society. With this particular grant, we will teach students how having a few avian animals can provide food stuffs for the school cafeteria to use in recipes for staff and students. 

What will be done with my students

If possible, students will hatch eggs from an incubator and learn how to care for and raise an avian animal. If eggs are not available to hatch, or time does not allow, an animal will be purchased from a repudiable farm. Students will research how to provide the best care for these animals and monitor their growth and well being. Students will provide a habitat with shelter for said avian(s) and learn to feed and water the animals on a schedule. While animals are growing into adulthood, students will research the proper procedure for handling and harvesting eggs. Once eggs have been harvested, students will learn recipes and create said recipe for consumption.

Budget Narrative

The equipment bought for this grant will last for an entire year and the structures will last as long as they are being used and taken care of.
