Goal

Research shows that students who participate in chamber ensembles and solos become more proficient musical performers. We will enhance our permanent music library to improve the quality of the student experience.

What will be done with my students

Students will be grouped by musical abilities to form chamber ensembles. Students will then collaborate to utilize previous knowledge from the M/J Band curriculum to perform these chamber selections at various functions throughout the community. The ultimate goal is for these students to participate in the Florida Bandmasters Association sponsored state assessments (held each February and April) to encourage and measure their growth.

Benefits to my students

Students who participate in small groups are more likely to gain higher levels of proficiency on their chosen instrument which will afford them numerous opportunities to perform in honor groups and potentially earn college scholarships after high school.

Budget Narrative

Chamber music will be purchased from a local music vendor (see separate emailed list) based upon recommendations from the approved Florida Bandmasters Association Music List which is governed by the Florida School Music Association.
