Guided Reading Leveled Books for the Primary Classroom

Bryceville Elementary

The purpose for this grant project is to add to the amount of Guided Reading leveled books teachers have in their classrooms to support their small group Guided Reading instruction. Guided Reading is a teaching approach designed to help individual readers build an effective system for processing a variety of increasingly challenging texts over time. Guided Reading will increase student knowledge and academic performance. With the NEF grant we received last year we began the process of creating our Leveled Book Room. Now we would like to continue to add more books. These books have made a tremendous impact on our students in a positive way. Our teachers use these books daily during small group instruction as well as our tutors during their small groups.
