Goal

To allow students to discover and learn about the flow of charges and electrical currents between points using simple circuits.

What will be done with my students

Teachers will guide students through an inquiry-based lesson on how to build a simple circuit that can allow or stop the flow of electricity. Students will test different items to see if they are conductors or insulators.

Benefits to my students

Florida's 5th-grade science standards require students to understand the concept of closed and open circuits, as well as the differences between conductors and insulators. These kits would be a wonderful addition to our science curriculum.
