Dear Futures Foundations

The students at Galaxy Middle School - Culinary Arts Programs want to thank Futures Foundation for Volusia County Schools for helping our program to purchase small equipment.  This grant allowed students to experience a variety of cooking labs which has an amazing impact on student learning.  The Culinary program here at Galaxy Middle School is an asset to the school base community.  We a barking on completing our third year and with the help of Future’s Grant and the supporter we are so thankful.  The mini grant that was awarded for the 2024-25 school year impact the program greatly.  The funds of $829.00 allowed us to purchase not only the items on our wish list, but we were able to purchase additional stove top griddles, storage containers and colorful measuring cups and spoons.   All the equipment is appreciated and needed for this development within our CTE programs here at VCS.      The students enjoyed using all the new equipment in their food labs.  The following labs that were offered this year and not last school were: variety omelet lab, and homemade ice cream lab and final table setting lab. Thank you again and we look forward to collaborating with Futures Foundation of Volusia County Schools in the next coming school year.

"My favorite part of the school year has been cooking and trying different foods and making homemade ice cream.   It has been so fun and is something we do together as a student just like a big happy family."   Mia Colon – 8th grader.
