Goal

What will be done with my students

FIRST® LEGO League is an international program for 9 to 16 year-olds to get children excited about science and technology – and teach them valuable employment and life skills. This year’s theme "HydroDynamics" Challenge asked teams to explore the problems we face connected to the Human Water Cycle. Teams meet the Challenge by programming an autonomous robot to score points on a playing field (Robot Game) within a set time (2 1⁄2 minutes) and developing an innovative solution to a problem they have identified. Both teams will meet with teams from around the world to showcase their skills.

Benefits to my students

The students will have the opportunity to interact with students from all over the world, 100 teams, 70 countries--sharing ideas and learning from each other. The FIRST program inspires, excites, and introduces kids to the wonders of science, technology, and engineering giving them skills they will use for a lifetime.

Budget Narrative

YIKES--that's a lot! YES, but so worth the experience. We are doing all we can to offset the cost but need help from the community to make it happen. Every donation moves us closer to our goal. Thanks.
