Goal
Purpose & Need:
Barron Collier students photograph fast-moving events — sports, assemblies, and performances — where standard lenses can’t reach. The 70–200mm f/2.8 lens will give student photographers the ability to shoot from a distance while maintaining crisp focus and professional image quality.
Learning Goal:
Students will study action photography, shutter speed, and composition while applying technical knowledge in real settings, meeting standards for career and technical education (CTE) and visual arts.
Category
Electronics - Headphones, charging cables, computer mice, etc.
What will be done with my students
This telephoto lens will be checked out through Project Aperture: Frame the Future for sports and outdoor events, allowing photographers to safely capture close-up action from the sidelines. Students will learn to adjust exposure and tracking focus, skills used by professionals in media and journalism careers.
Benefits to my students
Improvements:
• Dramatic improvement in school sports and event photography.
• Development of leadership and technical confidence among student photographers.
• Stronger school spirit through high-quality coverage of BCHS life.
Measurement:
Event coverage logs, photo publication frequency, and visual quality comparisons before/after lens acquisition.
Budget Narrative
Funds will purchase a NIKKOR 70–200mm f/2.8 lens for use with D780 cameras. This lens ensures professional-quality telephoto reach for athletics, concerts, and ceremonies.
