Goal

This project brings flexible, comfortable seating to my speech and language classroom to help support focus, engagement, and confident communication. Beanbag chairs create a welcoming space where students feel safe to speak, listen, and grow their speech and language skills.

What will be done with my students

With your support, we can add six school-aged size beanbag chairs to our classroom rug area. This will transform it into a cozy, flexible space for small-group activities like storytelling, discussions, and interactive smartboard work. Comfortable seating helps students feel relaxed, focused, and ready to express themselves. This supports not just their communication goals, but also their social-emotional development. 

 

Benefits to my students

By adding the beanbags to my classroom, students would feel more comfortable, focused, and confident during speech and language sessions, leading to increased participation and communication. I’ll measure success through student engagement, participation, and progress toward speech and language goals. 

 

Budget Narrative

Grant funds will be used to purchase six school-aged beanbag chairs for our classroom. These chairs will be placed in our rug area to create a comfortable, flexible seating space for small-group speech and language activities. Each item directly supports student engagement, focus, and communication by providing a welcoming environment for learning.
