What will be done with my students
The Strategic Targeted Instruction for ELLs project will:
1. Provide data of native language proficiency to support instruction and the transfer of language skills.
2. Develop learning plans for ELL students based on their language proficiency level.
3. Purchase specialized content area bilingual dictionaries for classroom use.
4. This information will enhance course selection and inform placement.
Benefits to my students
This grant will support approximately100 English Language Newcomers, their teachers, administration, coaches and staff. This grant will directly benefit our growing ELL population by providing our school with the tools, knowledge, and resources necessary to implement targeted instructional strategies. By investing in this program, you will help close the achievement gap for some of our most vulnerable students while creating sustainable instructional improvements that will benefit ELL students for years to come.

We want to meet students where they are. This project will provide essential resources and an understanding of new students’ native language proficiency to enhance ELL instruction tailored to diverse language acquisition needs.
