Statewide Reach for Local Impact

FIND IT FUND IT FLORIDA

The overall purpose of this project is to create a mobile whiteboard that enhances accessible, flexible, and inclusive teaching and learning for students with special educational needs. This tool addresses the need for adaptable learning environments that can be modified to suit a variety of physical, cognitive, and sensory needs. Many students benefit from visual learning aids, interactive instruction, and proximity to instructional tools. A mobile whiteboard allows teachers to bring visual content closer to the student, reduce distractions, and foster more personalized engagement. It also supports differentiated instruction and can be used in both one-on-one and small group settings.

The project supports the academic goal of improving student engagement, comprehension, and communication for learners with special educational needs. By offering a dynamic and responsive teaching tool, the mobile whiteboard promotes better understanding of core curriculum content, facilitates active participation, and enhances visual and kinesthetic learning opportunities. The project aligns with inclusive education practices, aiming to improve outcomes in areas such as literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development, while also supporting individualized education plan (IEP) goals.

What will be done with my students

This project involves the acquisition and use of a mobile whiteboard specifically designed to support students with IEPs in both inclusive and specialized classroom settings. The mobile whiteboard will be used as a flexible instructional tool that can easily move between different areas of the classroom or school, making it accessible during small group instruction, one-on-one sessions, and classroom-wide lessons

The mobile whiteboard will directly address the individualized needs of students with IEPs by providing a versatile, student-centered learning tool that can be used across various instructional settings. For students who require visual, hands-on, or movement-based learning, the board offers a responsive surface that can travel to where the student learns best, whether that’s at a desk, on the floor, or in a quiet corner.

Benefits to my students

The mobile whiteboard will increase student engagement, participation, and access to visual supports. It will help deliver more personalized instruction aligned with IEP goals, support communication and social skills, and boost student confidence and independence during learning activities.

These outcomes will be measured through IEP progress tracking, teacher observations, student work samples, behavior and engagement data, and feedback from staff and specialists.
