Goal
Kickball is a great game for physical education because it's inclusive, promotes physical activity, and helps develop various skills. It's easy to learn, adaptable to different skill levels, and fosters teamwork and social interaction, making it a fun and engaging activity for students. Kickball teaches a range of physical, social, and cognitive skills. Students develop motor skills like kicking, running, and catching, alongside improving hand-eye and foot-eye coordination. The game also emphasizes teamwork, cooperation, and sportsmanship, including respecting teammates and opponents, playing fairly, and handling wins and losses gracefully.

What will be done with my students
By integrating kickball into the curriculum, I can create a fun and engaging learning environment that fosters both physical and academic growth in my students. In addition to traditional kickball, I will have students play various fun and engaging games beyond the standard rules. These variations can include "Backwards Kickball," "Continuous Kickball," and "Survival Kickball," each with its own unique set of twists on the traditional game. The game encourages cardiovascular health, strength, balance, and coordination as students run, kick, and field the ball. Kickball also promotes communication, cooperation, and sportsmanship among students.
Kickball's simple rules and fast-paced action make it an enjoyable and exciting activity for students of all ages.
Benefits to my students
Playing kickball in Physical Education class can improve several areas of a child's development. Specifically, it can enhance physical fitness, teamwork, and social skills. Additionally, kickball helps develop eye-hand and eye-foot coordination, and depth perception. Outcomes are measured by both individual and team performance, as well as by assessing skills and sportsmanship. Individual performance is tracked through runs scored and outs achieved, while team performance is assessed by the final score and how well they follow the rules and play fairly.
