Statewide Reach for Local Impact

FIND IT FUND IT FLORIDA

This grant request seeks funding to purchase LCD tablets for use in a first-grade classroom. These tablets will serve as interactive tools that allow young learners to demonstrate their understanding in creative, engaging, and developmentally appropriate ways. In early elementary education, students often struggle to express their knowledge through traditional methods such as writing or verbal explanation. LCD tablets offer a low-tech, screen-free solution that enables students to draw, write, and solve problems in a tactile and visual manner. These tools are especially beneficial for emerging writers, English language learners, and students with diverse learning needs.

Illustrate story elements and vocabulary
Solve math problems and explain their thinking
Draw scientific observations
Practice handwriting and spelling
Engage in collaborative learning activities

Benefits to my students

With an LCD tablet students will
-Increase student engagement and participation
-Provide equitable access to expressive tools for all learners
-Support formative assessment by allowing students to quickly and clearly show their understanding
-Foster creativity and confidence in young learners

Success will be measured through teacher observation, student feedback, and samples of student work. The tablets will also be used during parent-teacher conferences to showcase student progress.
