Goal
The purpose of this project is to promote a sense of classroom community in our students with room transformations while bringing Civics content to life! This academic outcome is connected to SS.7.CG.2.3 which is for students to identify and apply the rights contained in the Bill of Rights and other amendments to the U.S. Constitution.

What will be done with my students
Students will participate in a Bill of Rights Choice board for the week to celebrate Bill of Rights Day in December. Students will finish off the week with a Bill of Rights Bistro Room Transformation as a culminating activity for the week! This project will meet the needs of the students by providing them with opportunities to connect with their peers and other students and the teacher, and provide connection to the learning materials!
Benefits to my students
Students will have a new wealth of knowledge including the following because of the Bill of Rights choice board project:
Students will recognize that the Bill of Rights comprises the first ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution. Students will recognize the five freedoms protected by the First Amendment. Students will evaluate how the Bill of Rights and other amendments (e.g., 13th, 14th, 15th, 19th, 24th, 26th) influence individual actions and social interactions. Students will use scenarios to identify rights protected by the Bill of Rights. Students will use scenarios to recognize violations of the Bill of Rights or other constitutional amendments.
These outcomes will be measured by completion of the choice board activities during the week.
Budget Narrative
Students will use materials to complete their "Venti" activity for the choice board project and receive hot cocoa and dress up like a barista during this room transformation! Students will remember the Bill of Rights in the Constitution as this room transformation will bring the content to life in a very memorable way!
