Goal
My goal is for all students to be recognized and rewarded for their hard work and dedication to their learning. Our school uses a program called PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention & Support) to promote school safety and positive behaviors. I use something called Class Dojo to keep track of the students' positive behavior and their accomplishments. They earn points throughout the day while in the classroom as well as all across campus. Students earn Dojo points and shop weekly in our classroom store.

What will be done with my students
Students will use their Dojo points that they have earned to purchase items in the classroom store. Students are highly motivated by the program and get to see that hard work pays off.
Benefits to my students
Students are motivated to set a good example for others and do the right thing because they see that doing that brings great things. Focusing on the positive versus the negative empowers children to want to do more and achieve more. Children must feel comfortable, appreciated, and valued to achieve and be academically successful in a classroom. Recognizing students for their achievements and positive behavior is contagious and only creates more positive behavior. Having a points system for positive behavior and achievements and a classroom store allows the students to earn points for positive behavior and then spend those points on things they enjoy.
