Goal

The goal is to issue all Advanced students their own pottery wheel apron to use for the school year. 

What will be done with my students

Advanced students will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining their own apron for the year. Students will be able to keep their clothes clean and build more ownership and responsibility in the classroom while decreasing the amount of laundry that I have to do each week. In order for students to be responsible for washing their apron, they will need to be issued their own to maintain for the year that they will return at the end of the year. Right now, students share aprons and use towels to cover their legs to stay clean. And I am constantly washing them for students. With each student being responsible for their own apron each year, they will gain ownership of keeping them cleaned and also allow the classroom to decrease the amount of laundry done each week and laundry supplies needed each year.  

Benefits to my students

These aprons will benefit students on the wheel all year long to keep their clothes clean. These particular types of aprons will cover their front and their legs which is not capable with the typical apron, allowing students to keep their school clothes cleaner. They will also have individual ownership of washing the apron regularly (much like a gym uniform) which builds more responsibility for the students. I will benefit in the classroom by having less laundry to do which will save time and laundry supplies.  

Budget Narrative

50 specialty wheel aprons at approximately $15 each is $750. Buying in bulk is free shipping.
