Goal
My goal is to teach my students to survive in the real world. I want them to never feel their disability. I learned that people with disabilities don’t think they are special they think we are the special ones. With a world full of I can’t, they can’t set the mindset that they have already failed. So, in my class I choose and speak life into my students, by giving them the tools they will need to go out and conquer the world one disability at a time.
What will be done with my students
I will turn my classroom into a vocational/Life Skills Room. We are looking to get table desk with chairs, a wall cabinet, and shelfs to set up a food pantry, and life skills section. We want our students to leave with a full set of work skills that will help them get employed by any company.
Benefits to my students
The benefit to my students is that they will be fully prepared to work in any work environment. We all know that it is very hard for us as “Normal” people to enter into the work force with limited skills. So as a Transitional Access Teacher it is very important to me to teach my students on a high level so that they can be successful in and out of the classroom.
Budget Narrative
These items are needed to help my students be successful in the workplace. The first item is a desk set, that will be used in the capacity as an office set-up. The kitchen table will be used in our kitchen/dining room area. They are both needed to help our students learn how to work in an office environment, and restaurant.
