Goal

The goal is to enhance the health and well-being of educators, students, and the entire academic community.

What will be done with my students

Through a rigorous 6 week training program I will become equipped to train both students and staff members through CASEL-aligned, inclusive and trauma-informed mindfulness lessons and yoga classes. I will prepare wellness experiences for students and educators that build community, foster vulnerability, and co-create learning. I will be able to articulate the connection between a foundation of well-being and the existing high priority outcomes at Seacrest Country Day School.

Certifications Acquired Through Training:
1. 200 hour yoga teacher certification
2. B4C Social-Emotional Learning Facilitator Certification

Benefits to my students

These practices will lead to increased performance, self-compassion, and resilience for students. Daily mindfulness practices have been tied to increased student attendance rates, decreased suspension rates, and reductions in stress and anxiety for children. The goal is for this type of instruction to become common practice throughout our Middle School classes.
