Goal

Give students at multiple levels the opportunity to successfully perform music that best fits their individual achievement and inspire them to progress to a higher level.

What will be done with my students

In my grades 9-12 classes, students are often faced with music that is too difficult or too easy, in order to best fit the overall needs of the group. This can cause frustration and lack of engagement. Through this grant, new sheet music arrangements will be purchased that have simultaneous multiple levels of challenge, so the instructional materials can be better tailored to each individual student.

Benefits to my students

Through this grant, we are meeting the students where they are and inspiring them to work toward the more challenging level of achievement. Also, these arrangements will benefit the feeder elementary and middle school students who perform with the high school students several times a year.

Describe the Students

My students are diverse in age and performance. I have gifted, ESE, emotionally challenged, low performers, and high-achievers all together in the same class.

Budget Narrative

Music arrangements generally cost $45-$60 each. As many arrangements will be purchased to facilitate this year and also for future years.
