Goal

Our goal is to create positive, engaging, meaningful learning experiences for all students. By incorporating robotics into Math and Science lessons, we are able to deliver instruction in a way that will engage today’s student, while also giving them the opportunity to increase their coding, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.

What will be done with my students

Dash is a kid-friendly programmable robot that that instantly engages students as it as it moves, lights up, and makes sounds. Students code Dash using a free app. Having multiple Dash robots in the classroom will allow us to use it in both whole-group and small-group Math and Science lessons where students collaborate to demonstrate their knowledge of multiplication, perimeter, fractions, light energy, and more!

Benefits to my students

These materials will be shared with the entire 3rd grade team, allowing 100 students to engage in collaborative STEM activities that foster creativity, problem-solving and joy for learning. Dash will allow students to engage in higher-order thinking tasks that combine real-world 21st century skills with math and science content in a way that is both meaningful and memorable.

Describe the Students

Our classes are made up of ESE, ESOL, high achieving and low achieving students. Our students come from very diverse backgrounds and Dash Robots are a great and engaging way to reach all learners.
