Goal
To increase hands-on science in all classrooms and increase mastery of Nature of Science standards.
What will be done with my students
Students in all grade levels will have the materials to complete at least one common experiment per quarter. The experiments are content based and have an enhanced focus on the Nature of Science standards, which are historically the lowest performing on district and state assessments.
Benefits to my students
All students will be able to complete experiments in which they all have their own materials in a small group.
· Students will be able to collect and organize data.
· They will be able to share and communicate data while analyzing information and defending conclusions.
Budget Narrative
Funding is not available for teachers to purchase enough supplies for all students to complete the experiment individually, only 6 groups per class.
· The importance of this grant is that students have the opportunity to put their hands on science and compare data collected to practice Nature of Science standards.
