Goal
I want to purchase four (4) Flinn Compact Microscopes. I am asking for four extra microscopes to accommodate two teachers with 165 students each.
What will be done with my students
SC.912.P.8.7 (Level 2)
Interpret formula representations of molecules and compounds in
terms of composition and structure
SC.912.N.4.1
Explain how scientific knowledge and reasoning provide an
empirically-based perspective to inform society's decision making.
SC.912.P.8.1 (Level 2)
Differentiate among the four states of matter.
Benefits to my students
Students will be able to perform several chemistry labs using a microscope. For example, students can study the shape and size of salt crystals using the magnifications under a microscope. That will enable them to understand the properties, and to compare and contrast among the different types of salt crystals. Four microscopes will be used by the Chemistry Department for 330 students.
Budget Narrative
Included in the order are a maintenance kit and slides for the specimen.
