Goal

Our goal is to enhance the well-being and educational experience of the students at our school by purchasing and installing a sensory path on the school premises.

What will be done with my students

Through the successful implementation of this sensory path project, we aim to create a more vibrant and inclusive learning environment that empowers our students with the tools they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We are committed to ensuring that every child at Riverview Elementary has access to this valuable resource, contributing to their holistic development and fostering a stronger sense of community within our school.

Benefits to my students

By the end of this project, we aim to achieve the following outcomes:

Improved Sensory Engagement: To create a dynamic and engaging sensory path that provides students with diverse sensory experiences, stimulating their senses of touch, balance, and coordination.

Enhanced Physical Activity: To encourage physical activity among students by incorporating fun and interactive elements into the sensory path, thereby promoting a healthier lifestyle and physical well-being.

Support for Cognitive Development: To provide opportunities for cognitive development through creative and imaginative play within the sensory path, enhancing problem-solving skills and critical thinking.

Inclusivity and Accessibility: To ensure that the sensory path is designed to be fully inclusive, welcoming students of all abilities and backgrounds, fostering a sense of unity and belonging within the school community.

Community Engagement: To create a communal space where students, teachers, and families can come together, fostering social interaction and building stronger connections within our local community.

Educational Integration: To integrate the sensory path into the school's curriculum, enabling teachers to incorporate sensory activities into their lessons and enhancing the overall educational experience for students.

Therapeutic Support: To provide a therapeutic resource for students who may benefit from sensory-based interventions, helping them manage stress, anxiety, and sensory processing challenges more effectively.
