Goal

The second-grade students of Palm Terrace Elementary will develop artistic skills through the art-making process of photography and experience situations of self-exploration and self-expression.

What will be done with my students

VA.2.C.1.1 - Use the art-making process to communicate personal interests and self-expression.
Students will learn the basics of photography and how to use a Polaroid Camera. After, they will be given artistic freedom to create the following types of images: Portraits, Textures, Reflections and Shadows, and Storytelling.

Benefits to my students

This special project will build self-esteem and aid in the intellectual growth of the young participants as it will allow them to be a part of a new, unique opportunity created specifically for them.

Budget Narrative

I will purchase 600 pieces of Polaroid film to execute this project. The film will be used with Polaroid Cameras that were granted by FUTURES in 2020.
