Statewide Reach for Local Impact

FIND IT FUND IT FLORIDA

I am seeking financial support to buy sensory stimulating materials for my classroom. These materials will be primarily for my ESE students, but I believe that my Gen-Ed students would benefit tremendously as well. These materials will give them the sensory input they are seeking, as well as help develop their fine and gross motor skills. Some examples include materials for the sensory table, soothing toys with different textures for the calm down corner, active play items, and various materials to support our developmental and educational goals.

Goal

I am seeking financial support to buy sensory stimulating materials for my classroom. These materials will be primarily for my ESE students, but I believe that my Gen-Ed students would benefit tremendously as well. These materials will give them the sensory input they are seeking, as well as help develop their fine and gross motor skills. Some examples include materials for the sensory table, soothing toys with different textures for the calm down corner, active play items, and various materials to support our developmental and educational goals.

What will be done with my students

My students will have more sensory materials available for them to help them build independence in meeting their own needs and self-regulating.

Benefits to my students

My students will have more materials to fulfill their sensory input needs. The materials will also help with their fine and gross motor development. This can help students self-regulate more effectively. These materials can also help prevent dangerous sensory seeking behaviors with more appropriate means to meet sensory needs.

Describe the Students

My class is a blended class of 3-year-olds. I have 5 ESE students and 6 Gen-Ed students.
