Goal

Give students a different option for sitting in the classroom that is different from the typical classroom chair. Students feel more comfortable and therefore focus better and perform better. The still provides stability and flexibility all without getting up

What will be done with my students

I will be using these stools everyday during the year. Any student who is in my classroom can benefit from these flexible seating options. In addition my classroom is on the smaller side so having a seating option that isn’t so bulky will cut down on traffic jams and open up some space for students to maneuver easier. O

Benefits to my students

Provides an outlet for children with high energy or sensory seating needs like ADHD or Autism. Classwork, reading, drawing, eating or board games are no longer sedentary activities. Students who fidget or need to wiggle while working can do so without causing disruptions in the class. I expect students to perform better because they can concentrate and feel more comfortable in their learning environment. Offering another seating option gives students choice instead of always having the same chair.

Describe the Students

I have 22 students. One student has a 504. A few buys have been diagnosed with ADHD. A majority of the class would fall in “higher performing” cater for however, everyone has their weaknesses. I have several boys who would benefit from having the flexible seating instead of the rigid, traditional seating option. I don’t believe the students have ever had a classroom with a flexible seating option

Budget Narrative

The money will be used to purchase a class set of wobble stools. Students can focus and do better when they are comfortable. With these stools, students will now have a choice of what they want to sit in.
