Goal

This grant is so we can have the ability to purchase Items for students to be able to buy using the school currency.

What will be done with my students

This is the second year of the ambassador program at Liberty Middle School. This was a school-wide initiative to improve behavior and moral. Last year the ambassadors' programs was implemented and raised enough money to create an incentive room to be used weekly as a reward for students displaying the school code: P.R.I.D.E. Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Dependability and Encouragement. We also created a school store fully funded by neighborhood donations. Both locations are maintained and run by students Ambassadors. We also implemented a school-wide positive shout-outs for morning announcements to start the day on a positive note. Here any student or staff can promote positivity.

One set back, we had last year was the inability to provide the students with supplies and goods to purchase at the school store on a continuous basis. The store was so popular that every time we opened, we sold-out by the end of our 3rd lunch. We were able to open 4 times last year.

Liberty Middle School serves 53% of underprivilege children whose only ability to provide for themselves is purchasing their school materials or snacks at the store using their earn school currency.

Benefits to my students

Our expected outcome is to be able to open the school store at least 6 times in an academic year. This will be a 50% increase of last years; and be able to purchase Items the students are incentivized to buy at the school store.

If we average a $200 dollar trip to a wholesale store such as Sam's Club 6 times in a year to supplement the donation bank provided by parental support, we will be able to support our students better on their needs.
