Goal

To provide the students with the proper equipment and materials to give them the highest chances to success. To improve the Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) Cadets mind and body. Through teaching and physical fitness.  

What will be done with my students

It will strengthen., keep them hydrated and storage for the equipment. The benefits come in the way of: improved conditions of already existing equipment, improved safety/health, and improved physical fitness. We also have 8th grade students from Middle School in the NJROTC program.  

Benefits to my students

This will help them learn about nutrition, physical activity, STEM, and many other things. Help with life after High School such as paying bills, and life skills.
The following are expected outcomes from this project:

Better physical fitness
Improved quality of weapons and fewer replacements/maintenance costs.
Reduces cost of maintenance and replacement of uniforms.
Improved safety standards and health of cadets. 

Budget Narrative

l Fitness equipment (cones, medicine ball, and gymnastics mat): This equipment will assist us in furthering the cadets physical fitness. Part of the program includes the concentration on fitness and health and these items will provide us with more tools to do this properly.

l Safety/medical equipment (canopy, cooler, radios, first aid supplies, and massage gun): Due to the nature of the program and consistently being outside exposed to the elements this equipment is essential. Being located in Florida, we are often exposed to extreme heat/humidity and the canopy provides protection from direct sun. The radios provide the instructors the ability to quickly communicate with each other in case of emergencies and properly handle the situation in a timely manner. During times of extreme physical activity the massage gun can help treat muscle spasms and tightness that occurs due to heat and exhaustion.

l Miscellaneous equipment (dehumidifiers): These are ESSENTIAL for the unit. Being located in Florida, humidity is a HUGE issue. During this past summer the school district decided to turn off the air conditioning in the buildings. This resulted in many of our uniforms being damaged with mold. The dehumidifiers will ensure this does not happen again and will also maintain them in better condition throughout the school year. The dehumidifiers will also ensure that our armory is kept at a lower humidity level thereby ensuring better conditions for the weapons. Reducing moisture will not only ensure the weapons are not damaged and work properly, but also will lessen long term financial costs to the unit in regards to replacing them.
