Goal

To provide Tuners, mics, and Tuner holders to Students who don't have a personal devices in class when teaching intonation.

What will be done with my students

We will purchase tuner/metronome combos with mics and will 3d print mounts for the stands so that they stay secure and safe for many years to come. Students who didn't have access to a device before will be able to ensure they are mastering the same skills and tasks without having to share 3-4 to a personal phone or tuner.

Benefits to my students

Our students perform in the community all year long. With 40-50 kids per class each year having enough resources is a large challenge to overcome. Learning to play in Tune with your neighbor and section is once of the most challenging tasks to master for a young musician. Having a tuner handy ensures students have a device to show them their mistakes at an early developmental stage and gives them a visual on how to correct bad intonation.
In todays day in age phones have made this easier with apps costing only $3-4 but not every student has a phone handy and not every student can afford the app. In order to combat this in the past we have had to share and take extra time to give each student a chance with the device we do have. Having enough to get that class time back and allow us to use them more often in rehearsals is essential.
By 3d printing a mount for the stand students will be able to see the tuner while reading music and ensure we have no accidental damage. This will ensure that our tuners last for many years to come positively impacting 200 students each year.
