Goal

The goal of this grant is to have our very own popcorn maker that culinary can uses all the time. We sell popcorn at basketball games and school events when we are able to borrow the machine. 

What will be done with my students

My students will be able to make popcorn and run the concession stand as workers and practice customer service and cleaning and maintenance on the machine.
The following standards from our curriculum this grant will cover are: 02.0 Demonstrate employability skills as they relate to the culinary industry.
03.0 Demonstrate effective communication skills.
04.0 Analyze careers in the culinary industry.
05.0 Practice safety, sanitation, and storage procedures in food preparation.
06.0 Identify and demonstrate proper use of culinary equipment and tools.
07.0 Read and interpret a recipe accurately.
09.0 Analyze factors that affect menu development.
10.0 Demonstrate basic food preparation skills.
11.0 Exhibit efficient operation of the back-of-the-house.
12.0 Exhibit efficient operation of the front-of-the-house.
 

Benefits to my students

The students will benefit by being apart of a close community in our school that is our culinary program and they will be able to raise money for our labs so no student has to pay for a lab fee. We are a Title 1 School so anything i can do to help better the program and their education I will do. 

Budget Narrative

The budget will cover 2 popcorn makers to be able to have one in the concession stand and another for school dances and any fundraising we do. The bags will be for holding the popcorn we sell.
