Goal
At Davidsen Middle School we are dedicated to creating a vibrant and inclusive community where every student belongs.
These shirts will serve as a unifying force, worn proudly by our students during special events like the Special Olympics, Gaither Stampede, field trips, and spirited school days.
Supporting those that support us: We welcome sponsorship wording/logo on the shirts! Your brand will be associated with positive change, inclusivity, and support for the education and well-being of our students.
What will be done with my students
A Culture of Inclusion: Matching athletic shirts will help us foster a culture of inclusion and belonging. By providing our students with specially designed shirts, you'll play a vital role in ensuring that everyone feels valued and accepted.
Boosting School and Community Pride: Our students take immense pride in wearing their school spirit shirts. With your support, they can proudly sport these shirts not only on special occasions but also on Spirit Day Fridays, enhancing school and community pride.
Enhancing Safety: Wearing matching athletic shirts will contribute to the safety of our students. Teachers can easily identify their students, especially during outdoor activities and when they are working on developing essential independence skills.
Promoting Personal Safety: Our shirts will be designed for outdoor activities, ensuring that our students are well-equipped for their adventures with the Florida heat.
Developing Life Skill Development: Students will actively participate in designing and distributing the shirts, gaining invaluable employment skills that will shape their futures.
Last year, matching athletic shirts were worn by our students during Special Olympics and the Gaither Stampede. The overwhelmingly positive feedback and compliments received were a testament to the impact of the above benefits.
Davidsen Middle School is a Title 1 school with the 4th largest immigrant student population in Hillsborough County. Many of our students face financial constraints, making extras like spirit shirts a challenge to afford.
Benefits to my students
Empowering Belonging: With your generous sponsorship, students will experience a profound sense of belonging. They'll proudly wear attire that represents their class, school, and community, reinforcing their connection to something greater than themselves.
Fostering Independence: Independence is a skill that's invaluable for all students, especially those with disabilities. Your support will enable our students to gain and enhance their independence, equipping them with essential life skills they'll carry with them throughout their journey.
Conquering Florida's Elements: In the face of Florida's extreme weather conditions, school athletic shirts ensure that our students are appropriately dressed for success. It's about more than just clothing; it's about providing them with comfort, safety, and the confidence to thrive in any environment.
Employable Skills: Students will learn real-world skills related to employment, including design and supply-chain management.
Budget Narrative
Student Spirit Athletic Shirts, one color, two sided print x 45 (estimated $23/shirt including tax and shipping from online company - will seek out local printers, also).
Students will design, therefore price may vary.
If the cost is greater due to student design/increase in supplies/etc, student families will be asked to pay the difference.
Adults, such as staff members and parents, will have the opportunity to purchase for at cost. The greater the bulk number ordered, the lower the cost per shirt.
