Goal
Enhancing STEM learning experiences for 21st century learners.
What will be done with my students
Providing engaging and rigorous inquiry-based learning opportunities through aligned standard-based curricula. Scholars will have opportunities to explore STEM learning and hands-on resources to enhance learning opportunities. Students will discover and learn about STEM related careers. Provides opportunities to underrepresented groups in STEM.
Benefits to my students
Students will show learning gains in the area of math and science on formative assessments. Students will connect STEM learning in other content areas, dive deeper into concepts, and close the gender gap in STEM education.
Budget Narrative
The MakerSpace will be as a new addition to our STEM lab that is being implemented this year. The Makerspace cart will hold the materials needed for building during the engineering design process. Task cards are standard aligned for grades K-2 and 3-5 that will an additional resource for teachers and scholars. The bulletin board set will make for a bright advertisement for the space, that will get all of our Scientists excited about STEM. The LEGO wall will be incorporated as part of the Makerspace for our design challenges. All materials will provide enrichment opportunities for all 21st century learners.
