Goal
As leader of the Green Team in my school and teacher of a 12+ Transition program, my main goal with this project is to develop in my students and the whole school community consciousness for saving energy, and get everybody involved in the process of learning how renewable sources of energy like wind power can make our school an auto-sustainable place. My goal is to install home size wind turbines in the school, which will be used to recharge batteries and run equipment in the classrooms like fans and other things resulting in helping the school and the school district save money
What will be done with my students
The students and other staff and parents interested will participate in the whole project from the study of the science of the benefits of the mechanism, advertising and installation, management, monitoring, follow up and the collection of data on how the project is impacting the school.
Benefits to my students
Start the mission of creating a self -sustainable school campus. At least 6-10 400 watts home simple wind turbines will run many fans which only require 50 watts of energy (the average one) and other simple equipment in the school.
