Goal

These Mac Mini computers will be used with students in a video production class to inspire creativity to its fullest.The movies that are created will be aired on our school morning show. Apple is the industry forerunner when it comes to software that utilizes stop motion, green screen, video editing, and augmented reality. Students will create videos to teach math, environmental science topics, and school news on our morning show. With the magic of green screen and augmented reality apps, students can create videos that will amaze our audience. It will look like the dinosaur is walking around in our TV studio! They will also create book advertisements to promote reading in a fun and exciting way. Imagine a book talk created using iMovie trailers complete with music and sound effects! Our audience will be begging for more. 

What will be done with my students

I hope to provide these students with access to technology to help prepare them for their future and motivate them for success. Apple computers are essential tools for learning, and I'm concerned that these students will fall behind if we don't help them now. This type of learning could lead to long-lasting career choices such as news production, film, computer software design, etc.

Additionally, our audience (students and families watching the show), will be inspired to view our world differently. Perhaps a news story we create will lead others to begin a recycling program, community garden, beach clean up, astronomy club, or other changes for the better. By sharing our ideas with others in inspiring ways, we can promote a healthier, better world. 

Benefits to my students

I want to provide my students with opportunities to explore Apple products and Apple creation tools. They have been incredibly impactful in my own life and are powerful tools to allow students to convey their understanding. I know they will benefit so much from having access to an Apple computer and the tools it possesses.

Our school has a daily morning show that students in our school love to watch. Imagine how much more exciting the school news will be when the students are creating the entire show themselves.

Parents are able to watch the recordings of the show through our school's Stream Channel. This channel is linked to our school website for easy access. It's password protected, too, so it's a safe way to share everything our kids create.

Our school has numerous performances for the community each year. Last year the Principal suggested that favorite clips from the morning show be shared during these school performances this year. Parents will be amazed to find out what the students are able to create this year.

The front office plays the morning show for parents who are stopping by with questions for our staff. If they didn't know about our show before, they're sure to go home eager to find our channel.

2 Mac mini computers for creating stunning movies and 4 USB flash drives to be used for exporting our Apple creations to the morning show studio computer.
