Goal

The goal of this project is to enhance student engagement and learning in connection to the BEST standards. 

What will be done with my students

Students will engage in STEAM based challenges that connect to the BEST standards. This will not only enrich understanding of the benchmarks, it will develop thinking and communication skills which are fundamental to the development of the whole child. The SPIKE Essential kits are adaptive and inclusive for all learners, allowing students to problem solve through trial and error and reflect on their outcomes.  

Benefits to my students

Through this project, Students will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on STEM challenges while also developing literacy, mathematic, coding and social-emotional skills. The kits will allow students to demonstrate their creative thinking skills to solve everyday, real world issues. For example, students may be tasked with building a mini-golf game that will use enough force to hit the ball for a hole in one.
