Goal

To expose first generation college students to different college atmospheres (large, small, traditionally, historically black, single sex, and coed).

What will be done with my students

Approximately ten (10) Pre-Collegiate students in the major program at Eastside High will participate in college tours to Georgia/Alabama in the Fall (Albany State, Auburn, Tuskegee, & Alabama State) and North Carolina in the Spring (North Carolina State, North Carolina, North Carolina Central, Duke, North Carolina A&T, & Winston-Salem State).

The students will have the opportunity to visit different types of colleges and universities. As well as, speak to admission counselors and current students about each college.

Students will be able to fully understand what the college admission process is like.

Benefits to my students

This experience will teach the importance of attending college and what steps are needed to attend the various colleges and universities.

Budget Narrative

The figures shown are partial expenses for the trip. Club fundraisers will partially reduce costs not covered or paid by students.
