Goal

The goal of this project is to incorporate grade-appropriate mentor texts to teach the six-traits of writing-ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions

What will be done with my students

Students will be given the opportunity to write using the six-traits of writing-ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency, and conventions. Students love picture books at any age. By utilizing the mentor texts and lessons, students will be more interested in writing and gain more of an understanding of the expectations.

Benefits to my students

All sixth grade language arts teachers and students will benefit from the purchase of this crate. Students will benefit from these activities and lessons will be linked to Language Arts Florida Standards. Students will incorporate the six traits in to their every day writing, as well as their essay writing which will improve their test scores.
