Goal
The overall purpose of this project is to enhance the creative and instructional capabilities of the art classroom by implementing a projector that supports hands-on tracing and design activities. This tool will allow students to accurately trace images for large-scale art projects, such as banners, murals, and school/community displays, while also supporting visual demonstrations and collaborative learning. This will also help bridge the gap between traditional art techniques and modern tools, making art more engaging and inclusive. Students love technology integrated!
Category
Electronics - Headphones, charging cables, computer mice, etc.
What will be done with my students
This project involves acquiring and installing a classroom projector to support a wide range of art activities, particularly large-scale tracing and design work. Students will use the projector to display digital images onto surfaces such as paper, fabric, or poster board, allowing them to trace outlines accurately for projects like school banners, murals, stage backdrops, and community art displays. What is nice is there will be a projector and lap top stand, making this activity accessible to the whole school not just the art room. Activities will include:
Image projection and tracing: Students project selected images or original digital designs and trace them onto larger surfaces for banners or posters.
Collaborative art projects: Students work in teams to create large-scale displays for school events, seasonal decorations, or community projects.
Benefits to my students
With the addition of a projector, students will experience the mapping in creating large-scale artwork. The ability to project and trace images will improve their understanding of proportion, composition, and spatial planning. Skills that are often difficult for younger or less-experienced artists to master by hand alone.
This tool will also foster a more inclusive and collaborative classroom environment. Students of all skill levels/abilities will be able to participate in complex art projects, which helps build self-esteem and a sense of contribution. Additionally, the projector will enhance engagement by allowing for more dynamic lessons, demonstrations, and multimedia integration into art instruction. Students will gain a deeper appreciation for how art connects to real-world applications, such as public displays, event promotion, and community engagement.
Budget Narrative
The requested items directly align with the instructional goals of the art program by providing a practical tool that improves students’ ability to visualize, plan, and execute complex projects. This technology will also be used for classroom demonstrations, helping the teacher model techniques and guide students through multi-step processes more effectively.
Overall, the funding will provide long-term value by equipping the art classroom with a versatile, reusable resource that enhances both individual creativity and collaborative student work.
