Goal

The purpose of the subscription is to provide kinesthetic movement and academics for my kindergarten students. This fun platform includes many different types of movement that integrates Reading and supports Writing as well. The outcome would be that my students would be able to practice our Phonics and Phonemic Awareness learning goals. This practice lays the foundation for beginning writers to not only read independently but also write independently.

What will be done with my students

This project includes songs and movements that reinforce our Phonics/Phonemic Awareness instruction. Students will do activities such as sound out simple CVC words to dance and freeze to read the word. The platform also supports English Language Learners as it incorporates movement and repetition. Providing opportunities for my students to move while they engage with skills that help them read and write is a Win Win! 

 

Benefits to my students

This platform gives all students an opportunity to interact with fun and engaging ways to improve their Reading skills. I will expect to see both test scores and daily engagement increase. It will be reflected in reading fluency, iReady testing, and State testing. 

 

Budget Narrative

This subscription provides fun and engaging songs with movement that support Reading in the classroom. Young learners benefit from having the opportunity to move while they learn!
