Goal

My goal is to increase student engagement and improve academic performance in my U.S. History class by acquiring a premium online subscription to Quizizz, an interactive learning platform. The use of Quizizz will support the development of students' knowledge and skills in alignment with Florida's 11th grade U.S. History standards and assist in preparing them for their End of Course state assessment.

What will be done with my students

I will utilize Quizizz to create interactive quizzes and games that review and reinforce key historical concepts, events, and figures. These quizzes can be used during lessons, as homework assignments, and for formative assessments. The quizzes will be designed to align with Florida's standards for 11th grade U.S. History. I will incorporate gamified learning experiences using Quizizz to make reviewing content more dynamic and competitive. Students can compete individually or in teams, fostering a sense of collaboration and healthy competition. 

 

Benefits to my students

Engagement is a critical factor in student learning and success. Traditional teaching methods can sometimes fail to capture students' interest, leading to disengagement and lower academic achievement. Quizizz, a game-based learning platform, offers an innovative solution by turning learning into an interactive and competitive experience. By incorporating Quizizz into the curriculum, I aim to make learning the standards for my U.S. History class more engaging and enjoyable, thereby enhancing student motivation and retention of historical knowledge.

I intend to see increased student participation and engagement in the classroom, as well as improved retention of historical facts and concepts through regular, interactive practice. Additionally, students should have enhanced critical thinking and application skills, as well as improved motivation to engage with the curriculum and study outside of class.
