Goal

Tonies characters provide a wide range of content options, allowing teachers to select stories and songs that align with their student's interests and educational needs. Whether it's nursery rhymes, science, or classic literature, there's a Tonie character for every learning journey. I would like to boost their vocabulary and literacy skills, which is key during these early years.  

 

What will be done with my students

The Tonies characters helps pre-readers and developing readers use their imaginations, allows them to develop reading skills, and encourages them to become storytellers. They will be able to put a Tonie character regarding a book they like and follow along with the Tonie character.

Tonies has nursery rhymes characters, songs, and stories that will boost speech development and accelerate language learning, including English language learners.  

 

Benefits to my students

Excessive screen time can have adverse effects on children's health and development, making it essential for teachers to seek alternative forms of entertainment and education. Tonies characters offer an engaging, screen-free storytelling experience that encourages imagination, creativity, language development, and social interaction.

By incorporating Tonies characters into a child's daily routine, teachers can enhance their cognitive development, expand their vocabulary, and create peer opportunities. Moreover, Tonies characters help reduce screen time, promote outdoor play, and offer personalized and educational content. With Tonies characters, children can embark on exciting journeys through storytelling. 

 

Describe the Students

My classroom is made up of 7 general education and 7 ESE students, I teach in a pre-k 3 blended. I have children with autism, developmentally delayed students, and also children with language impairments. My classroom also has two students who are ELL and speak Spanish. Next door prek teacher has 8 students, one ESE student who is on the spectrum and two others who are being evaluated for ESE services as well who are also ELL students.  

 

Budget Narrative

I would like to add four- five Tonies boxes to share with two prek-3 blended classrooms and share characters between both classes during centers to have a listening center with books that go along with the Tonies characters.
