Goal
Utilize adaptive weights to improve strength and stamina.
Provide physical activities to help manage stress and anxiety.
What will be done with my students
Students will participate in daily activities utilizing adaptive weights. Students will have equipment available to use during time of stress and anxiety.
Benefits to my students
Weighted exercises will benefit students by increasing their hand strength, strength and stamina. In addition, such exercise can assist with anxiety relief, emotional regulation and stress management.
Describe the Students
My class consists of students challenged with autism, intellectual, visual, hearing and physical disabilities.
Budget Narrative
A total of 30 sets of weights will be purchased. A variety of weights, 2lbs, 3lbs, 5lbs and 8lbs will provide equipment appropriate for various ability levels.
