Goal
Kindergarten students will learn to count the phonemes to help them learn how to read and spell their sight words. They will also use the ten frames poppers to help in addition, subtraction, and learning the combinations of ten
What will be done with my students
Students will use their poppers in all classroom settings. The teacher will provide high frequency words and the children will pop out the individual phonemes in the words.
During math, they will be able to use the manipulative to help them solve simple word problems, as well as learning the combinations of ten.
Benefits to my students
Each child in kindergarten at our school will quickly learn how to count phonemes in words. They will love to manipulate the popper while doing math as well. Learning will be like a "game"!
Budget Narrative
We would need $198.51 to purchase a bubble ten frame for each student. Amazon sells a pack of 6 for $10.99. To have each child in our kindergarten class get a bubble frame, we need to purchase 17 sets. 17 sets x $10.99 = $186.83. Tax adds another $11.68, so the total coast to provide a bubble frame for 100 students is $198.51.
