Goal

Show students the different ways plants grow, and expose them to different plants/herbs

What will be done with my students

I brought real flowers and snake plants into my classroom and was quickly surprised to learn many of my students had never seen real plants indoors or seen/tasted herbs. Please help me change that! I plan to use the Aerogardens to grow different types of plants/lettuce/herbs in my room and make different things for the students to try. I also want them to see the different way plants can grow and the different parts of plants.

Benefits to my students

My goal is to expose students to real plants and help them to awaken their taste buds to new foods/herbs and the many things we can do with herbs, like basil lemonade or mint tea. Through the use of the resources students will be able to quickly identify different parts of plants, types of lettuce and herbs, and the conditions needed to grow indoors.

Budget Narrative

The cost is from Amazon, it covers two Aerogardens, a mixed lettuce pod set, and a book about how to incorporate math, science, art, and reading using a garden
