Goal
To promote research skills, discussion skills, and better understanding regarding difficult topics.
What will be done with my students
This is a subscription for an online discussion forum that allows unlimited topics to be discussed in a safe online setting. It is fully teacher moderated and students get graded for using credible, accurate data and for submitting work using proper discussion techniques.
Benefits to my students
This teaches students how to properly discuss issues by providing stem sentence starters and allowing for student anonymity by assigning them the names of historical figures. The students are free to openly share perspectives with only the teacher knowing their identity. I will use this in both my Government and Global Perspectives courses to expose students to all perspectives so that they can learn to research and make better-informed judgments.

This allows unlimited students and classes to participate. Otherwise, I am limited to a few topics.
