Goal

The goal of this project is for students to use their creative minds! They will learn to use various design applications and websites to plan their ideas. Then, they will be able to make their ideas come to life using a Cricut machine and accessories!  

 

What will be done with my students

Our plan is for students to create stickers, t shirts, and whatever else their creative minds design! We will be donating some of these items to members of the community (shirts to those in need, stickers to students at other schools, the possibilities are endless!) During Sharpen the Saw time (through our new Leader in Me district initiative) one Friday per month, students will be able to design and create. This will help them foster so many skills such as graphic design, creativity, planning and organization, and teamwork. Also, we will be implementing Student Leadership Teams for the first time this year and I would like to host a Creative Design team using these tools. The concept is for students to design and create items that they can give back to our local community.  

 

Benefits to my students

This will benefit our students - and community - in so many ways...and for years to come! Students will learn graphic design, creativity, entrepreneurship, leadership, giving back to the community, teamwork, planning, designing, implementing, and turning their ideas into reality! I believe that this will boost their confidence and critical thinking skills as well. As we go, I'm sure that they will find even more uses that I haven't thought of...yet! :)
 

 

Budget Narrative

Budget includes all items needed (from Amazon - no shipping costs) for students to begin creating! This includes a Cricut machine and all tools & supplies, a crafting printer, a heat press (iron) for making t shirts and other designs (putting vinyl on wood etc), a mug press to make coffee mugs, sticker paper, infusible ink t shirts & the paper needed to create their designs, and extra vinyl!
