Goal

The goal of this grant is to give students the ability to feel comfortable and safe in their learning environment. Due to social distancing, the students have limited space to move. However, with flexible seating, the students will have the ability to still move and empower themselves in their learning. 

 

What will be done with my students

The students will be empowered by giving the opportunity to choose their seating to create a comfortable and safe learning environment. This will increase their ability and willingness to learn.  

 

Benefits to my students

The goal with flexible seating is to limit redirection and to help students to engage in the lessons in which help with behavior. Each lesson that we have is roughly 30-50 minutes long, and the goal is to limit the amount of redirection to one per lesson. When the students are engaged in the lesson, it limits the amount of redirection and helps all the students learning and behavior, which will be evident through their conduct grade.  

 

Budget Narrative

The funds will be used to purchase twenty-two wobble cushions at $19.99 each, and one adjustable height round table with four flex space floor seats priced at $538.00. These items will be bought from Lakeshore Learning.
