Goal

Our goal is for our middle school students with special needs to grow a school garden and to sell the produce/plants from the garden. This will teach the students responsibility, leadership, business, the study of the water cycle and healthy eating habits. This will engage students to see the fruits of their labor.

What will be done with my students

Students will be responsible for building the garden, fertilizing the garden, planting the fruits and vegetables, watering and selling the produce/plants grown.

Once the produce/plants have grown they will start selling the fruits and vegetables to our students/staff. They will eventually sell the produce/plants at farmer markets within Collier County.

Benefits to my students

Environmental Ownership= Showing students how seeds grow and develop into a produce.

Social Skills= Students learn how to work as a team and learn leadership skills, responsibility and ownership in success of their garden.

Healthy Habits= Learning to grow fresh produce/plants to sell to their friends/families.

This garden will continue for our school for years to come.
