Goal

Students will be able to design and 3D print representations of different molecules in Chemistry using the Dremel 3d45 printer in my classroom.

What will be done with my students

After having learned molecular structure, students will be assigned a molecule, open a tinkercad account, and design the molecule to be printed in the 3D printer.

Benefits to my students

Visual representation of molecules, better understanding of molecular structure, experience and practice designing in CAD, practice with making, sending, and following up on design for 3D printer.

Budget Narrative

This filament would be my only cost in having all students have the chance to design and print a molecule on a 3D printer. This technology is the future and I would love to give my Title 1 students a chance to experiment with and use this cutting edge technology.
