Goal
Three dimensional and hands on science is the BEST science! These skeleton resources will make the skeletal systems come alive for students when we cover the human body systems in class. These resources will reinforce what the skeletal system does and students will understand why it is an important body system.
What will be done with my students
With these resources students can create a life-sized, 5-ft-tall human skeleton with this set of detailed X rays and explore the entire skeletal system. Also, students can study another "real life" skeleton, learn about the major bones and how they all work together to support homeostasis.
Benefits to my students
Hands on resources or three-dimensional learning is very important for all students, but especially students that need extra support. Hands on learning allows students to practice the working together of the three dimensions to make sense of phenomena and design solution to problems more easily in the field of science. It also represents an entirely new way of thinking about and enacting science teaching. This type of learning is beneficial to ELL students who struggle with language but have the opportunity to learn and express ideas with visuals.
Budget Narrative
The cost is for a real-life looking skeleton and 5 sets of the True-to-life X-rays.
